Why not just call an installer?

Most commercial solar installers earn commission on hardware margin. Their incentive is to specify the largest system you'll buy — not the most economic one. We have no installer commission incentive, so we can recommend the right answer including (often) "no system this year, focus on roof refurbishment first" or "smaller system than your installer is proposing".
